I hadn't realised this was smoked until I saw the label after delivery; it is not a strong smoked flavour at all though and is not salty like streaky bacon can be. 500g is about 30 slices, which I thought was good value, especially as the quality is really good. Unlike some reviewers, our packet was more meat than fat, although you do need fat for the flavour. I have used it for a fresh carbonara, along with the fresh tagliatelle (also good) and everyone loved it.
